Used when applying for approval of building work that's already been carried out without consent. Regularisation work can only be authorised by the local authority.

When submitting your application include as much information as possible in your supporting documents, e.g. invoices, construction notes and designs, photos of works during construction.

Be aware if remedial works are required, you may need to open up trial holes, expose works, or remove works that are deemed non-compliant.

If works began from or after the 1st October 2023, you must submit the duty holders’ details, and provide the “New Application Declaration” form signed by the duty holders, when you submit your application.

We will only issue a certificate of regularisation once the building work complies with building regulations.

You must apply with as much time as possible, as we will not be able to take account of the time sensitivity of a sale when properly processing your application and checking if the building works are safe and compliant with regulations.
