Used for all types of building projects where the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) network is used.
The Partner Local Authority (outside of Colchester) will complete the plan check and issue the decision notice.
Colchester Building Control, the host authority where the site is located, will carry out the inspections and final sign off at completion.
The client submits plans, specifications and calculations to the Partner Authority who will check to ensure your design meets building regulations. If the client has any queries as to what documents are required, contact the Partner Authority directly.
The Partner Authority will submit the application and their decision to Colchester Building Control.
From 1st October 2023, you must submit the duty holders’ details, and provide the “New Application Declaration” form signed by the duty holders, when you submit your application.
Applicant: The person making the application.
Client: The person for whom the work is being carried out.
Principal Designer: The sole or lead designer appointed under regulation 11D responsible for the designs and sign off of plans to submit for Building Control Approval.
Principal Contractor: The contractor appointed under regulation 11D who carries out the building work.
Submit a Partner Authority application
The Client and Partner Authority should liaise to arrange payment of inspection fees. Please enter the email of the party who will pay by card in the section that asks for a payment email. The email chosen will receive an email, with a link to the Council Payment Service to pay.
