Essex County Council is responsible for planning and delivering public on-street electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Essex.
It has adopted an Electric Vehicle Charge Point Strategy and secured government funding to expand the public charging network.
Expanding the charging network
Essex County Council plans to install new public electric vehicle charging points across the county, including charging infrastructure for residents without access to off-street parking.
Proposed locations will be assessed against factors such as:
- local demand
- access to a suitable electricity supply
- site conditions
- parking requirements
- technical and funding requirements
