Glass recycling must be separated from cans, tins and metal recycling. Our crews will not be able to collect mixed recycling.
Glass
Glass goes in a green recycling box or any similar sized non-cardboard container.
- All glass items should be rinsed with water first.
- Please do not overfill (above the lip) containers because these cannot be safely collected
- Please remove lids from glass bottles and recycle metal as per Tins and Plastic.
- Glass recycling must be separated from cans, tins and metal recycling.

- Glass bottles and jars
Items we do not collect:
- Sheet glass including window panes
- Drinking glasses
- Ovenproof cookware (for example, Pyrex, glass plates etc.)
Cans
Cans go in a green recycling box or any similar sized rigid non-cardboard hard container. Cans should be rinsed with water and squashed prior to placing them in the recycling box.
Items we collect:
- Metal cans and tins (tinned food and drink)
- Metal lids
- Foil
- Aerosol cans
- Biscuit Tins
- Baby Milk Tins
Items we do not collect:
- Knives
- Badly soiled metal items
- General non-recyclable household waste
- Garden furniture
