Before You Submit Your Application
Before you submit your planning application, make sure you meet all the requirements for your application type.
You can check the Local Validation List and the National Validation List to find out what you need to provide.
We encourage you to get pre-application advice or enter into a Planning Performance Agreement (PPA).
If you do not have a PPA, we will not give progress updates or respond to third-party representations.
Application requirements
Your plans and supporting information must be:
- accurate
- detailed
- up to date
- appropriate for the scale and complexity of your project
Plans must be drawn to scale.
Any specialist reports must be prepared by a qualified professional, such as a member of the relevant institute.
Make sure the certificate of ownership is correct. Errors in ownership details may lead to your application being refused.
Important Information
- Missing or incorrect information can cause delays or lead to refusal.
- Once submitted, we will not negotiate major changes to your application.
- You should only contact us if a case officer requests further details.
