Now, our story starts in a gym with our hero, Baz, and his mate, Frankie Two-Toes. Nobody knows why they call him that. Baz has a big head of hair, and Frankie has all his toes.
The boys are arguing because Baz has no money, and Frankie says he should leave his motor at home to save some of his hard-earned cash. But Baz loves his motor and bets Frankie he can come up with an idea to save some dosh while still using his wheels.
The next morning, our boy is stuck in heavy traffic on his way to work. He is not happy, and then he spots Perfect Pie in the car behind.
Now, Pie has been on our hero’s radar for a while. She lives on Baz’s street, and it looks like she works near Baz too.
Well, would you Adam and Eve it? Pie pulls into the same car park as Baz at the Cester Business Park.
That weekend, our hero is buffing his pride and joy when he spots Perfect Pie doing the same. Now our boy has a plan.
Off he goes to see Pie with his proposal. After an introduction and a bit of a chat, he hits her with his idea.
“Let’s share the journey to work—one week on and one week off.”
Now, our Pie is a sensible girl and will agree to nothing without a bit of thinking time. But after a chat with her mum, who happens to know Baz’s mum, and asking the advice of her workmate, she agrees to Baz’s plan.
The first morning arrives, and the pair are a bit nervous. They soon discover that they like the same music and share a few friends they did not even know they had in common.
The journey to work is over far too soon.
The weeks pass by, and although our hero does not like sitting in the girly car every other week, he soon gets over it when his friends see him with Perfect Pie and he thinks about all that lovely lolly he is saving.
In fact, they both begin to look forward to travelling to work together.
Back in the gym, Frankie Two-Toes is after his winnings, but Baz gives him the good news. He is saving half of his fuel bill, and he has a new friend as well.
Actually, our hero is thinking about asking Pie out for a drink.
