The independent, family-run restaurant was one of the early additions to the Northern Gateway site, forming part of the leisure park’s growing food and drink offer. After several months of trading, the restaurant temporarily closed, with the owners confirming they were taking a short break to make improvements before reopening to customers.
Following the opening of Vue cinema and Clip ‘n Climb earlier this year, and with further venues set to be announced in the coming months, Colchester Leisure Park is attracting growing interest from residents and visitors alike. The return of Taste of Italy marks another positive step forward for the development, which is now around 95% let by area with just three units remaining, as Colchester Leisure Park continues to establish itself as a leading destination for dining, leisure and entertainment.
Taste of Italy offers authentic Italian dishes made using carefully selected ingredients, including fresh dough prepared daily and traditional recipes inspired by classic Italian cuisine. The restaurant aims to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where people can enjoy everything from pizzas and pasta to Italian drinks and desserts with family and friends.
Taste of Italy owners Lucia Pronesti and Sergio Teacu, said: “We are thrilled to be reopening at Colchester Leisure Park and to welcome customers back following our recent improvements. We’re looking forward to building on the support we’ve already received and being part of this growing destination.”
Councillor Alison Jay, Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, Transformation and Digital at Colchester City Council, said: “Colchester Leisure Park is continuing to take shape as a vibrant destination for residents and visitors, and it’s great to see Taste of Italy reopening as part of that growing offer. Together with the venues that have already opened and those still to come, it adds to the range of experiences available and gives people even more reasons to visit.”
