Park Active allows you to park outside the city centre and walk or cycle for the rest of your journey.
Park Active members can use a discounted parking rate at participating Colchester car parks.

The scheme aims to:
- encourage people to use cheaper and more accessible car parks outside the city centre
- encourage people to walk or cycle for the rest of their journey
- free up central parking spaces for short-stay visitors and Blue Badge holders
- help reduce congestion and improve air quality
How Park Active works
You must register for Park Active through MiPermit and agree to the membership terms and conditions.
Park Active members can park at Napier Road North or Napier Road South for £0.60 per hour and then walk or cycle for the rest of their journey.

Membership terms and conditions
By registering for Park Active, you confirm that you:
- will only use the discounted parking rate for the purpose of the scheme
- will contribute to future Park Active surveys
- agree that your postcode and anonymised parking-stay data may be used to help us understand the travel habits of Park Active members
The scheme will run for an indefinite period. Members will receive updates by email about changes or other important information.
We will continue to review the impact and success of the scheme.
The discounted parking rate may change or be withdrawn at short notice. Members will be informed before any changes are introduced.
