Food businesses across Colchester are being invited to become Founder Members of TuckIN, a new programme helping make healthier food choices easier for local people.
The initiative offers free support, training and certification to restaurants, cafés, takeaways and other food businesses that want to improve the nutritional quality of their menus and cooking methods. Participating businesses will receive guidance on reducing salt, sugar and saturated fats while continuing to offer customers great-tasting food.
Supporting healthier communities
Businesses joining as Founder Members will be among the first in Colchester to take part, demonstrating their commitment to supporting healthier communities and helping customers make informed choices.

Cllr David King, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Local Government Reorganisation, Communities and Public Protection, said: "Food businesses play an important role in the health and wellbeing of our communities. TuckIN gives businesses practical support to make small changes that can have a positive impact on residents, while giving customers more healthy options when eating out. We would encourage local businesses to get involved and help us and our community make healthier food choices."
