Residents planning their autumn garden tidy-up can now take advantage of Colchester City Council's discounted Garden Waste Subscription Service.
The mid-season offer provides up to seven months of fortnightly garden waste collections until 31 March 2027, helping residents dispose of fallen leaves, hedge cuttings, weeds and other garden waste without needing to make trips to the recycling centre.
Residents who sign up or renew between now and 30 November 2026 will benefit from a reduced service fee. New subscribers will pay a £34.99 one-off joining fee and a reduced service fee of £32.50 per bin, while existing subscribers can renew their service for £32.50 per bin. The Garden Waste Subscription Service offers convenient fortnightly collections from residents' homes, making it easier to stay on top of seasonal gardening jobs while ensuring garden waste is recycled into compost. Residents can subscribe for up to five bins per property, and neighbours can also choose to share a bin.
Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and Leisure, said: "As we head into autumn, many residents will be spending more time in their gardens clearing leaves, pruning shrubs and preparing for the colder months ahead.
"Our mid-season garden waste subscription offer provides a convenient and cost-effective way to manage garden waste, with regular collections from your doorstep and the reassurance that the material collected will be recycled."
